There are few classier players in the NRL than Dean Whare and that his built his game to such a professional level at such a young age is a testament to the work ethic of the man.
PLAYER RATING: 8/10
In previous years the Whare-Simmons combination has been one of the best pairings in the NRL but 2015 saw the end of that. Whare was limited to just 13 games thanks to a handful of pesky injuries and it cost the Panthers dearly.
The final pass was all that was missing from so many promising plays by the team and that’s where the finesse of Whare would have almost assured the team of a four point play.
Now that Simmons has retired it will be interesting to see who Whare gels with best in the next generation of wingers. No doubt the flyers will have a much easier time of things with Dean Whare on their inside.
