He’s played more games for the Panthers than any other active player currently at the club and while Sam McKendry's game didn’t improve greatly in 2015 his leadership qualities certainly did.

Until now many have still seen him as one of the young props nurtured through the system in the Elliot era but 2015 was the season that McKendry graduated to a true leader at the club.
He matured his game, meaning reliability, efficiency and consistency complimented already strong rugby league abilities.
The New Zealand international surely has more caps for his country in his playing career and as one half of a potent representative starting prop rotation for Penrith he’ll be an integral part at a premiership for the Panthers in the coming years.
