Isaah Yeo will deputise for luckless Penrith centre Dean Whare in Saturday's NRL clash against Canberra.

In what was supposed to be his long-awaited comeback from back-to-back calf injuries, Whare tore his ACL during training on Wednesday and is now out for the rest of the season.

Panthers coach Anthony Griffin confirmed back-rower Yeo would shift from the forwards to the centres in Bathurst, with 18th man Sam McKendry to be added to the bench.
